Greetings! My name is Dr. Mary Henold, and I am a visiting professor for the spring term. My home institution is Roanoke College, a small liberal arts college in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States, where I have been a history professor for the past 15 years. I teach American history with a focus on women’s/gender history and American social and cultural history in the 19th and 20th centuries. My research is on the history of American Catholicism, particularly American Catholic laywomen in the 1960s and 1970s.

This term I am teaching the US history survey and two seminars, one on the history of American women, and one focusing on the history of American adolescence.

I am delighted to be here with you. I look forward both to teaching you and learning from you this semester. If you have any questions (and you probably will) please ask. I’m more than happy to talk with you.
